About

Before Itunes,CD's, cassettes, vinyl records, and even glass 78RPM records, there was the perforated metal disc. The crank was wound up, and the music flowed.... The perforations in the metal disc correspond to pins on the revolving cylinder, which pluck different size "teeth" on the "comb",creating a chiming orchestral sound. This is considered a "double comb", having two rows of teeth, and allowing many more notes and combinations of notes. It works beautifully, and has no mechanical issues. The exterior mahogany cabinet has been refinished, and displays nicely. There are a total of 12 discs included, each with a unique tune.
