Jimmy Mijau Mijau (Jimmy Midjawmidjaw) was a Crocker Island artist known for painting Mimih figures. These two figures are probably not Mimihs, but appear to be dancing and are painted in the traditional style with the use of cross-hatching or rarrk. It is signed on the reverse.
Purchased in Queensland, Australia in 1970-1973.
