About the Item

Beautiful large sculpture made by Leonaro Zanardello, Nove Italy 1978. Zanardello worked with ceramics for a very short time, making his pieces super rare and hard to come by. His artworks were featured in the important book "Concorso Internazionale della Ceramica, 1978" on page 66, a big deal for talented artists. This sculpture is stunning! It's big, has a natural shape with holes that play with light, and a rough surface that gives off a volcanic feel. The beautiful orange/brown color adds to its overall appeal. It's hand-signed at the bottom, making it extra special. Highly decorative piece to be put on a pedestal or on the floor. The Faenza International Prize Competition is one of the most important competitions in the world in the contemporary ceramic art sector. It was first established in 1938 as a national event and expanded to the international sphere in 1963. Announced annually, except in the years of the Second World War, it has become biennial since 1989 and has seen the participation of thousands of people. during its sixty editions Italian and foreign artists.

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970
By Giacomo Onestini
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Beautiful ceramic sculpture designed by Giacomo Onestini made in his own atelier in Italy in 1970. It has a combination of matte and shiny glazed surfaces. The back and sides of the sculpture have a textured surface with shades of gray, green, and sometimes turquoise. On the front, there's a carved-out section that's smooth and glazed with red and gold hues. It's a very appealing and intriguing piece. You can find the artist's signature, "Onestini," on the side of the sculpture. This piece was created in the artist's personal studio. Very nice large sized, heavy piece and in excellent condition. After graduating as a master ceramist, Onestini moved to San Marino where he found employment at the "Marmaca" ceramics factory. Around the end of the 1950s, he moved to Salerno and began working with the "Ernestine...
