A griffin is a mythical creature, half eagle, half lion. The griffins used to guard the gold of the kinds. Represents ferocity, pride, wisdom, courage and power. This unique and rare piece dates from the 19th century and was made in Germany. The measurements indicated are WITHOUT the pedestal. The pedestal itself measures: 42 cm H x 24 cm W x 24 cm D.
