About the Item
Sea Trout Trophy Fish Model.
An excellent carved wooden half block sea trout mounted on the original bevelled edged polished backboard, The back of the board with a very faint 'Farlow' stencil 'C. Farlow & Co. Ltd., Fishing Rod Manufacturers, 191, Strand, London'. There is a brass plaque to the front engraved 'River Gaula, 9 lbs, July 30th 1906, 9ft Trout Rod, W.H.B.'. The half block sea trout is carved with the dorsal fin, adipose fin, pectoral fin, pelvic fin, anal fin and tail fin The fish is painted to a high standard with naturalistically painted greenish colours, with a dark head and shading down the back through the paler tones to a cream-coloured belly. The fish is beautifully executed.
