Bronze Goat Early 1900s by Italian Sculptor Ernesto Bazzaro

About the Item

Ernesto Bazzaro Capretta In Bronzo a sculpture by Ernesto Bazzaro, an important Lombard sculptor and engraver active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Bazzaro (Milan 1859-1937) was known for his innovative approach to sculpture, characterized by dynamic realism and great attention to detail, often with a touch of expressionism that gave it an almost Impressionist quality. His works ranged from portraits to scenes of everyday life, with a focus on the depiction of movement and emotion. The Bazzaro signature engraved in cursive on the shaped bronze base helps confirm the work's authenticity. The bronze casting alone measures 15.5 cm high x 21 x 13, the measurements given also refer to the base. The rectangular marble base, 2 cm high, on which the bronze sculpture rests, is an important detail, as marble is often used in combination with bronze to give a sophisticated visual effect and to provide stability to the work. The work has a beautiful brown patina and is in good condition, which increases its value, making it a valuable piece for antique sculpture collectors and early 20th-century art enthusiasts. As a sculptor, Bazzaro left an important imprint on Italian art of the time, and works such as these are highly prized for their technical quality and historical value. For the export from Italy of an art object that is more than 50 years old, a government export license called BELLE ARTI must be applied for. the issuance of such a license takes about 2 to 3 weeks, to be added to the order processing time.
