Fine Bronze model of a horse by PIERRE JULES MÊNE, (France 1810-1879) entitled "Cheval Libre" (The Free Horse)
Sand cast during the Mêne-Cain (1874-1908) period, probaly circa 1880.
Listed in Mêne's catalogue, no. 39 and also used which slight alterations as one of the two Arab stallions in Mêne's popular work, "L'Accolade"
Superb colour and surface throughout and original patina with good depth
