c1950 Art Deco Waylande Gregory Fantail Pigeon Ceramic Pottery Sculpture

About the Item

A collection of c1950 ceramic Fantail Pigeon sculptures by noted American sculptor Wayland Gregory. We were fortunate enough to purchase these pieces directly from the Gregory Estate. Typically these would have been decorated (overglaze) further and fired a 2nd time. These sculptures have their preliminary firing and a clear glaze. A rare find. Gregory's sculptures are held in many American museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian. 6 available, priced individually.
