Robert X. Holmes Signed “Emerging” Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture
About the Item
A limited edition bronze sculpture titled Emerging by the American artist Robert X. Holmes (born 1927). A bronze figure stands in front of a darker figure positioned identically with the latter figure appearing to be the shadow of the leading figure. Both pieces are connected to a flat metal base. The piece is signed and numbered “R. Holmes 1/12” on the side of the bronze figure.
Robert X. Holmes earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona and started his own construction business in the 1950s. His business grew to incorporate design, leading to Holmes finding his passion for sculpture. After selling his construction business in 1981, Holmes became an artist full-time.
