About the Item

This is a heavy patinated bronze sculpture of a “Paso Fino”horse. “Paso Fino” means a horse with a fine step. These horses have a unique and natural smooth gait since birth. It depicts a large hairy proud horse with strong stamina that is starting its smooth gait. It is showing expressive eyes, a wavy mane and large tail. The horse sculpture is attached to a heavy large black oval marble base by two long screws with nuts. Paso Fino horses originated from centuries of selective breeding by Spanish Conquistadors who brought Andalusians, Spanish barbs from North Africa and Spanish Jennets to the Caribbean (initially in Puerto Rico) and Latin America (initially in Colombia). The American Paso Fino horses are often a blend of the best of these two countries.
