We are delighted to offer this stunning late 19th century Italian grand tour Recumbent Lion
A very good looking and decorative piece that looks expensive and important in any setting
These pieces were purchased by young aristocrats who travelled Europe as part of their studies, they were then displayed in Library’s and studies as conversation pieces
This is gold gilt bronze and has a very serene look to it and a tactile feel
The condition is very good for the age, naturally it has a period patination
