About the Item

Beautiful solid walnut hand carved sculpted bowl or catch all. Signed on the bottom. 1950s Emil Milan (1922 – 1985) was an American woodworker celebrated for his sculptural bowls, bird carvings, and art. Trained in sculpture at the Art Students League of New York, he began his career creating wooden pieces in the New York City area before relocating to rural Pennsylvania. There, he lived in solitude and worked out of a converted barn studio.
