Monumental Chinese Green Glazed Koi

About the Item

A visual pun for "abundance," this monumental ceramic fish sculpture brings an abundance of blessings, wealth and marital bliss. The terracotta statue depicts a large koi, or carp, jumping out of swirling waters with its tail flapping and mouth agape. Larger-than-life, the fish is shaped in low relief with scaly sides and ribbed fins, drenched in a glassy, blue-green glaze with subtle crazing and beautiful color variegation.
