Nicolás García Uriburu (1937–2016) was a pioneering Argentine artist and environmentalist whose work spanned painting, sculpture, and ecological interventions. He gained international recognition at the 1968 Venice Biennale, where he dyed the Grand Canal green with a biodegradable dye as a statement on environmental awareness.
