About the Item
Extremely rare shadow box wall art from the 1950's. Reminiscent of the work of Laurids Lonborg and Richard Galef, but probably Austrian. We had a trio of these many years ago but haven't encountered any others since. This has a fabulous asymmetrical shape and depicts a native awaiting the arrival of the Spanish explorers. It is already painted and shown in detail. Here and there some wear to the paintwork, but nothing serious. This is a truly quirky piece of wall art for the mid-century home, loft, or office.
