About the Item

This stunning French Art Deco crackle-glazed cubist ceramic sculpture is extremely rare, both by the color and the model. The sculpture was designed and manufactured in Saint-Clement, France. The animal sculpture features a stylized seal supported by a geometric base. The clean geometric design of this lovely animal makes it very special. This is a must-have in any collection and a true conversation piece because of that incredible glaze color in light cerulean blue. The hallmarks on the base read: St Clement, France, with 968, as the model number. The ceramic is in good condition, with a couple of chips throughout, especially on the base edge, a light hair crack on the base at the back, and dark stains on the seal side. Please check the close-up. All flaws are visible in the pictures. They do not significantly affect the overall appearance. Measurements: 11.44 in wide (29 cm) x 6.50 in deep (16.5 cm) x 10.25 in high (26 cm).
