About the Item

19th century French marbleized painted crucifix with green mica. The crucifix originally came from a collector in France. The crucifix is painted black with green marbleized details on the base. The figure of Christ is silver along with other details on the crucifix. It is adorned with green mica which coordinates with the painted details of the base. It is used as a halo effect around the crucifix. The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows that the crucifix is originally 19th century. The French crucifix is transformed into a new work of old and new. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
