About the Item

20th-century Sterling Silver miniature belonging to the collection "The History of Fashion" of a 16th-century women's costume that belonged to Eleonora Gonzaga. Eleonora Gonzaga (Mantua, December 31, 1493 - Urbino February 13 1550. The dress and hat were made using the casting technique. Subsequently, every detail was finished by chiseling. Most of the dress has been burnished, while the details have been finished with 24kt gold color play. The head of the figurine is made of resin while the base and the pin that supports the whole structure is made of plexiglass. A plaque was affixed to the base with the words in Italian; "History of Fashion Italian Costume of the 16th Century" Made by Argenteria Etruria - Florence, Italy. The company, which ended production in the early 21st century, specialized in reproducing miniatures, statues and household objects in silver with historical references, especially Italian Renaissance production but also with some hints of Chinese productions from the Ming era.
