Abstract Spherical Ceramic Sculpture

About the Item

Ball shape sculpture hand sculpted in ceramic with drip glaze. The ball sits in its natural position by the distributed weight. It is part glazed in white, turquoise, green and bronze and Raku fired which created surprising tones of eggshell cracking effect and irregular veins in the glaze and blackens the unglazed ceramic. This Raku firing technique, a unique form of pottery making with its origins in Japan.
