About the Item

Lacquered Head In Sculpted Wood Early 1900s mounted on a plexiglass base 3 cm. high with the neck truncated for attachment to the body by means of a pin. Despite having widespread color lapses in the lacquering, the face of this ancient oriental sculpture has kept its expressiveness, its soul, intact. The missing ears were probably reported as well as inferred from the footprints and nails present; the eyes are painted with dark, thick lines while there are four dark dots on the forehead, a symbolic sign of a religious and spiritual nature. The provenance of this face is vaguely oriental, probably coming from Indochina and dating from the early decades of the 1900s. Period: Early 1900s Height: 34cm Width: 15 cm / 5.9 inches Depth: 18 cm We ship from Italy. According to Italian law, every antique must have a government export license, the issuance of which takes 2 to 3 weeks, to be added to the shipping time.
