About the Item

Light reimagined – an Art Deco icon brought to life in radiant contemporary form. This striking sculpture, titled “Aube” (French for “break of dawn”), is a masterful contemporary casting of an original 1920s design by celebrated French sculptor Pierre Le Faguays, known under the pseudonym Fayral. Faithfully recreated by the historic Atelier Max Le Verrier, which continues to operate in Paris to this day, this piece embodies the spirit of the original Art Deco movement — refined, elegant, and eternally modern. A reclining woman, graceful and serene, is caught in a moment of poetic stillness. With her head gently resting on her hand and her other arm extended upward, she lifts a glowing glass orb, veiled beneath a flowing cloth that drapes softly across her body. Her legs are delicately crossed, emphasizing the sensual curves and relaxed posture that define the femininity and elegance of Art Deco form. The sculpture is hand-cast in patinated spelter (régule), finished in the atelier’s signature green patina, which may vary subtly due to the artisanal process. She rests atop a solid black marble base, which grounds the composition and enhances its timeless presence. The orb is internally lit, transforming this figure into both a luminous sculpture and a functional work of art. Each piece bears the signature of Fayral and is stamped by the Max Le Verrier Atelier, affirming its authenticity and connection to a century-old artistic legacy. Though contemporary in production, “Aube” is rich with historical meaning — an heirloom-quality piece that bridges past and present with elegance and light.
