About the Item

Very rare figure, the bathing woman designed by Johanna Meier-Michel, executed by the Vienna Kunstkeramische Werkstätte, during the Art Nouveau period. This ceramic piece, model "Die Badende," was designed in 1915 by Johanna Meier-Michel (born 1876) and subsequently executed by the renowned Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätte (Vienna Art-Ceramic Workshop). The natural white ceramic was painted and glazed. The woman exhibits a particularly elegant posture with elongated proportions and an exceptionally beautiful face. Her blond hair is tied back, and a towel is draped around her shoulders and back. She is leaning against a rock by the sea, her legs already touched by the waves. The inside is engraved with the WKKW company stamp and the model number 1510/27/7. Measurements approx.: height 10,24 in - 26 cm, width 5,12 in - 13 cm, depth 4,72 in - 12 cm The WKKW's products are highly sought-after Art Nouveau works of art from Vienna, Austria. A wonderful collector's item.
