Bronze sculpture “The Young Woman with a Dog”, signed E-L.Truffot 19th
About the Item
Elegant bronze sculpture with a brown patina by Truffot.
This work depicts a woman standing with clasped hands beside her dog. She is wearing a long dress and leaning against a tree trunk. Her companion, seated beside her, stares at her.
The base, decorated with a sheaf of wheat, bears the signature of its creator, Emile-Louis Truffot (1843-1895).
Truffot was a French sculptor known for depicting the struggle between a rabid dog and the shepherd Jean-Baptiste Jupille, the young man whom Pasteur saved by inoculating him with his famous rabies vaccine.
The sculpture rests on a pivoting base with a groove.
Touching and refined, this bronze will delight art lovers for its exquisite craftsmanship.
