About

A four-armed depiction of the Lord Vishnu holding the discus and the conch in the rear hands of the upraised arms. The deity wears a high crown and has earrings and bracelets. A long heavy dhoti falls from the belt below the slender waist almost to the ankles. As a god ensuring the order of the universe, the calm dignity and benign smile of the tall image give support to the reassuring gesture. The Goddess Lakshmi with her hands clasped, often depicted with Vishnu, stands at his side.
