Goldilocks by Rampinelli Edizioni Designed by Giorgio Biscaro Dimensions: D 20 x W 21 x H 27 cm Materials: Powder-coated metal. GIORGIO BISCARO I enthusiastically accepted Rampinelli Edizioni’s proposal, invited by their talented and daring art directors, as I believe the exchange of technologies can be important both for conveying knowledge otherwise confined to specific manufacturing sectors and for enriching their respective fields of action: the exquisitely productive, pragmatic, and concrete one, and the whimsical world of art and edition design, curious and experimental. The acrobatic object I designed is called Goldilocks, the impolite and curly-haired girl who, taking advantage of a bear family’s absence to feast on their food and damage their house, escapes unpunished. It’s ironic to observe how the idea of her floating and intricate curls contrasts with the solidity of the material representing them in a succession of curves and planes. Not only that: the moral that should be derived from this blatant allegory of our selfishness is that it’s right to return to a balance and respect for growth, which finds an interesting parallel in economic and cognitive sciences. The name? Goldilocks Principle. COLLECTION 2023: The 2023 Collection marks a new and captivating chapter in Rampinelli Edizioni’s journey. Eleven internationally renowned designers have reinterpreted Rampinelli’s intricate workings, giving life to a series of furnishing complements with remarkable refinement and sculptural nature. Guided by Rampinelli Spa’s mastery and experience, these eleven talents have shaped a wide range of objects celebrating the art of steel craftsmanship. Each piece has been conceived with the same dedication reserved for a work of art, paying particular attention to details and challenging steel processes and finishes to the extent of transforming imperfections into decorative elements in some cases. The result is a collection of small furnishing complements that transform steel into authentic works of art, capturing its intrinsic strength and sublimating the art of craftsmanship. This new Rampinelli Edizioni collection embodies a brilliant convergence of creative visions, paying homage to steel crafting techniques that blend industrial techniques with artisanal wisdom, a testament to the passion and commitment of the involved designers. RAMPINELLI EDIZIONI Rampinelli Edizioni originates from an idea by Sovrappensiero Design Studio and Gabriele Rampinelli: to explore and reinterpret the complex workings of the metalworking industry to venture into the world of design and furnishings. The passion and ambition to broaden their horizons compelled Rampinelli to accept this challenge. Hence, Rampinelli Edizioni was born, a furniture brand merging the technical and production skills of Rampinelli spa with Sovrappensiero’s contemporary design. The success of the initial experiment led Rampinelli Edizioni to expand its collection and engage in subsequent years with new collaborations with other internationally renowned designers to bring about the 2023 collection. The products highlight plasma cutting, CNC milling, and manual TIG welding processes.
