About the Item

Il Tuffatore is an important hand blown Murano glass sculpture by Loredano Rosin (1936-1992). Il Tuffatore, literally translated as, 'The Diver' is a Murano glass sculpture in deep grey. It depicts a modernist figure with its head down in a diving position. It is an extraordinary example of the artist Rosin's work and is signed by him on the base. Rosin was an Italian sculptor who worked predominantly in Murano glass and was once a master blower at the renowned furnace Salviati & Co in Venice where he worked with the likes of Picasso and Chagall. Today his works are exhibited in MOMA the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the fine Art Museum of Boston. We are incredibly lucky to have found this wonderful piece.
