Large Antique Victorian Staffordshire Hand Painted Figurine 'The Lion Slayer'

About the Item

This large antique ceramic figurine was made by Staffordshire of England in circa 1890 in the period Victorian style. The figure is done in the typical cream glaze Staffordshire is known for and has hand painted accents. The figure depicts a standing nobleman leaning on his sword with a stylized slain lion at his feet. There are several renditions of this figurine, seemingly getting more color and decoration in the later versions, but this is the early edition being offered.
