About the Item

Lladro retired boy and girl on carousel. Simply stunning, rare and exception pair of Lladro figurines. These two figurines were produced and sold individually and were titled "Girl on Carousel" and "Boy on Carousel". They were sculpted by Jose Puche and were in production from 1985-2000. In 2000 they were 'retired' and production stopped, you cannot buy these anymore! "Boy and Girl on Carousel' started production by Lladro in 1985 and are renowned as two of their finest and nicest figurines, they are most impressive and statement pieces. The 'Boy on Carousel" is marked F-27N and No. 7, meaning it was the 7th piece ever produced. That makes it one of the very early one's produced and was sculpted, decorated and signed by the original artist, Jose Puche. It is monogrammed by the artist! This significantly adds to the value of the piece! We are of the opinion that this was made circa 1985, in the first run of this figurine, it is an early number and the original owner collected her extensive Lladro Collection in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The 'Girl on Carousel' is marked F-20JU and No. 3, meaning it was the 3rd piece ever produced. That makes it one of the very first one's produced and was sculpted, decorated and signed by the original artist, Jose Puche! This significantly adds to the value of the piece! Lladro Porcelain Figural Group, "Boy and Girl on Carousel", depicts a boy and a girl sitting on a highly decorated Carousel Horse. Each figure sits on the horse with the girl sitting side-saddle. The figures sit on a circular plinth with central gilt column or pole with the pole ending in a finial of highly carved flowers in the form of jardinière. The girl holds a bunch of flowers in the right hand and is in a beautiful simple floral summer dress. The boy is dressed in a sailors outfit with sailors hat. Both piece sit on a later wooden and gilted plinth with label.
