Beautiful study of Venus, direct carved into solid afromosia. It shows a stylized and simplified female torso, focusing on the flow and curves of the human form rather than on realistic anatomical detail.
The smooth, organic shapes and the polished wood material are very characteristic of modernist sculptors from the mid 20th century, like Jean Arp or Henry Moore (although Moore leaned more into semi-abstract forms). It's about capturing the essence and feeling of the human body rather than replicating it exactly.
