About the Item

A wonderful spirit carrier sculpture out of virgin stione, by the renowned Indigenous artist Thomas B. Maracle from Ontario, Canada. The amazing object was probably created in the 1970s and is signed twice. This Native Renaissance sculpture depicts an eagle's head, with an indigenous spirit at its base in the neck. The carving is delicate, and it is signed on the base and on the underside. Measurements approx.: height 7,48 in - 19 cm, width 7,48 in - 19 cm, depth 4,72 in - 12 cm This is an amazing piece by Thomas B. Maracle. He is a well known and award winning stone sculptor and a musician. A Native North American Mohawk, he is a citizen of the Six Nations and lives in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
