La magia della scultura cera scolpita
La scultura in cera “Il volto” di Alessandro La Motta è un’opera che, sin dal primo sguardo, affascina per la sua luce calda e per il realismo delicato dei tratti. Formatosi tra Italia e Mediterraneo, La Motta è stato invitato alla 54ª Biennale di Venezia e, inoltre, ha esposto a Barcellona, alla Lubelsky Gallery di New York, all’Universal Expo di Shanghai, nonché a Hebron, Gerusalemme e Dakar. Caratteristiche tecniche ed effetto ambra della scultura in cera
La scultura, in eccellenti condizioni generali, misura cm 38 d’altezza complessiva con base, mentre la testa è cm 27 × 14. Grazie alla traslucenza naturale della cera, sebbene la superficie appaia compatta, una retro-illuminazione crea un sorprendente effetto ambra, che, infatti, conferisce alla pelle una vibrazione dorata. Così, l’opera muta al variare della luce: di giorno appare più opaca e, di sera, diventa eterea e quasi astratta.
