Il fascino unico del rame vivo
Questa straordinaria scultura in rame ossidato – cm 56 × 45 – rappresenta una maschera misteriosa, sospesa tra antichità mediterranea e sensibilità contemporanea. La superficie, infatti, presenta sfumature verdi e brune che cambiano tono con la luce, mentre sottili incisioni delineano lineamenti essenziali. Proprio grazie all’ossidazione controllata, ogni riflesso dona profondità e un inatteso effetto di “pelle” pulsante.
Tecnica, materia e sperimentazione
Alessandro La Motta, artista presente alla 54ª Biennale di Venezia, utilizza il rame come fosse tela, depositando patine e pigmenti che, dunque, reagiscono lentamente all’aria. Inoltre, la lastra viene martellata a mano; tuttavia, la resa resta sorprendentemente leggera. Ancora, l’ossido produce velature cangianti che si intensificano quando, perciò, l’opera riceve luce radente.
