About the Item

Swedish Modern "Flora Danica" sculpture made of hand-sculpted beech by Swedish artist Bo Fjaestad (1906 -1991) of Varmland, Sweden. Fjæstad Bo (Bo Krister Gustafsson Fjæstad), was a talented sculptor, joiner and furniture designer and was the son of Gustaf Fjaestad, a founder of Arvika Konsthantverk - an association of craftsmen in Arvika and is today Sweden's oldest gallery for local handicrafts. The association was founded in 1922 by Fjaestad and other craftsmen in order to facilitate the sale of their products.
