About the Item

Hull England, late 19th to possibly early 20th century. An antique half hull builder's ship model by W. F. Milne Esquire - Naval Architect, Hull England. This model is for ship No. 31 which measured 185 ft and weighed 1712 tons. Each part of the model gives details of measurements, moulds, rake, rivets, strake and other points for the builder to use as a guild. Having a wood (likely pine, possibly walnut) body painted with white and red detailing it is mounted to a polychrome decorated panel with two hanging brackets to verso. Measurements: 35" w, 8.75" h, 3.5" d. Provenance: From an important Cape Cod nautical collection.
