Peter Klasen is a German contemporary artist whose works
reflect the concerns of modern urban life. His style
artistic, mixing collage and trompe-l'oeil, highlights the
coldness and the codes of urban reality. With a theme
markedly industrial, it also explores the representations of
body and offers a critique of our society through his art.

Peter Klasen
Peter Klasen is a German artist who settled in Paris in 1959. He joined the international Avant-Garde in Paris, fleeing post-war defeated and divided Germany. He is among the artists who renewed figurative painting in opposition to abstraction. His paintings are recognizable by the use of an airbrush. His artworks are representing female bodies intertwined with sanitary, machinist and utilitarian objects. He depicts his vision of society changed by modernity and the conflicts of this modern life.
