Green Glass Carafe Bird of Prey Eagle Bessi Italy 29cm
About the Item
Beautiful vintage green glass carafe in the shape of an eagle or bird of prey, by Bessi, Italian, collector's item from the 1960s-1970s, marked at the bottom.
These glass carafes were created because people wanted to showcase the fine glass art in Tuscany, originally there was a Chianti wine in this carafe and they were sold like that.
The carafe has very fine details, the eyes, the beak, the feathers, the wings and the legs are all imitated in detail, the head of the bird rests on the cork and is therefore loose on the carafe.
Bessi Italy carafes came in various decorative shapes and colours, there is also a cat and a carafe in the shape of a car, and the eagle bottle also exists in amber, these items therefore have a high collector's value.
The carafe is in very good vintage condition, minimal traces on the inside of the head but no cracks or breaks, check the photos for more details!
Dimensions: 13x11x29cm.
Weight: 1.093kg.
