About the Item

A great glass design by René Lalique from 1920 for a perfume bottle that was retailed via the Maison Lalique to hold a perfume makers filling, especially designed for an individual. Pan, decorated with an iterating frieze showing the Greek god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, rustic music and impromptus, and companion of the nymphs. Patinated in grey and made in Lalique's workshop close to the date of it's design, ca. 1920. This is a great piece of early packaging design. It's a small precious hand flatterer, looking great in any bathroom cabinet, especially with good illumination. The piece is listed in «René Lalique 1860-1945 ... catalogue raisonné», Félix Marcilhac, les editions de l'amateur, 4th edition, on page 332, N° 504. It bears the molded signature „R.LALIQUE“.
