About the Item

A French terracotta olive oil jar from the 19th century, with wonderful glazes of vibrant orange and detailed cream and black decorations of fluid lines and surrounding foliate designs. Hand-crafted in France circa 1850 this terracotta oil jar has a top circular opening with thick lip, a wide comfortable top handle, frontal spout, and an adjacent wide molded handle. This jar has an all over glaze and is covered with appealing hand painted designs and a wonderful patina. With its gorgeous shape, color and rustic charm this antique jar would make a lovely decorative addition to any home, placed in the kitchen, dining room, or on the patio.
