Wonderful Antique Jug in Sand Cast Brass 19th Century.
A very elegant and beautiful jug in shiny sand cast brass made somewhere in the 19th century - probably early 19th century. Wonderful design and very heavy execution. Great hand made quality all over - you can see the sand marks of the casting on every part of the jug - combined with a great patina in gained over time this jug just has exactly the right appearance.
Great as a stand alone piece, but could also be used as a jug or as a vase.
Comes in a very good and original condition with a desirable patina.

A large piece of hand made brass used to transport milk from the country dairy to the home, often by donkey.
The outer body shows the textured surface left by the hammering technique used in the making of this piece. The jug is formed of two pieces of brass meeting at the mid-section with a decorative joint.
