Large Roseville Magnolia Green Ceramic Basket Planter Vase

About the Item

Large Roseville Magnolia Green Ceramic Basket Vase – 1943 This stunning Roseville Magnolia basket vase is a beautiful example of mid-20th-century American art pottery, featuring the iconic Magnolia design introduced by Roseville Pottery in 1943. The vase showcases a rich teal blue-green glaze, accentuated by soft dusty rose and ivory magnolia blossoms, creating a striking contrast that highlights the sculptural relief work. The gracefully curved handle and bold silhouette reflect the Art Deco influence that defined many of Roseville’s designs during this era. Roseville Pottery, founded in 1890 in Roseville, Ohio, became one of the most influential American art pottery manufacturers. Known for its innovative glazing techniques and nature-inspired motifs, Roseville’s handcrafted ceramics remain highly collectible today. The Magnolia line, introduced in the early 1940s, was one of the company’s final and most beloved patterns, celebrated for its elegant floral reliefs and distinctive colorways, including blue-green, brown, and blue. This piece is in excellent condition, with only a faint hairline in the glaze to the left of the handle. The base, which is often prone to chipping, remains in wonderful condition. For preservation, felt feet have been added, though they can be easily removed. Whether displayed as a statement vase or used as a planter, this piece is a timeless example of Roseville’s artistry and craftsmanship. A must-have for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage American pottery!
