Well, what have we here? Is it a beautiful cast-brass urn? Yes. OR is it a lovely Asian or Philippine wedding vessel? Also, Yes. What about a Gorgeous Gador (also spelled Gadur)? Yes… That is also correct!!! Whatever you choose to call it, this is an INCREDIBLE vintage Asian Islamic Philippine Wedding Vessel or Mindanao Maranao Urn comprised of a cast brass vessel with a bulbous body covered in etched or molded decorative motifs, a concave foot or base, and a domed lid finished with a spire top. The inside of the vessel is composed of inlaid cast brass with a purposed patina and if you look up inside the concave foot it has a piece of tin which we think may have been a fun vintage fix to cover a hole or something. If it could only talk!! HA! These containers were presented as gifts of exchange among wealthy Muslim Maranao families in the Philippines on Mindanao Island. Such objects indicated wealth and status and they were also given as impressive gifts given at ceremonies and weddings. The association with weddings is suggested by the long spire top on the lid as it is the shape of Rosewater sprinklers. Rosewater is used as part of a wedding ritual among Malays like people of Southeast Asia. It will be beautiful on a mantle above the fireplace, on the desk in your study, or maybe in a display filled with Uncle Joe’s ashes… KIDDING!!! LOL!!!! This is an exceptional cast brass vessel with a distinct vintage architectural presence that you are sure to fall in love with. So, what are you waiting for?? Make it YOURS!!!

In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary! -Aaron Rose. Well, this is DEFINITELY the right time AND the right light to make your home feel extraordinary!! We have a fabulous table lamp by elite manufacturer Frederick Cooper to offer to you. It is large scale and comprised of a hand hammered copper urn or jug shaped body, a round black painted wood base, hand forged hammered copper and iron double handles, and a knob shaped brass finial. And it is topped with a stunning black coolie shade with an inner shade that has a black and metallic gold modeled finish. It almost gives off a bronze hue…It’s just GORGEOUS!! This table lamp is Moorish style, but it leans a bit Traditional as well. We think it will blend in beautifully in any room that needs just the right amount of elegant ambience. It’s going to be lovely on a side or end table in your sitting room, on a sofa table in your living room, or on an accent table in your bedroom.
Frederick Cooper, an artist from Chicago established a studio to create gorgeous sculptures and watercolor paintings in 1923. He was also drawn to the still fairly new invention of lamps. Mixing such materials as brass, fabric, glass, and wood, he created exquisitely designed lamps that complimented the quick innovations in American architecture. The heritage continues today. They use fine materials such as brass, bronze, copper, nickel, marble, jade, and alabaster. They also create art glazed ceramics, hand decorated porcelains, and crystals. They refer to their designs and creations as “illuminated art.” Including design collaborations with Larry Laslo, Maria Buatta, Alexander Julian...
