This is a rare Italian Signed Hauy Pouigo, Black Ceramic and Fore Brass Ginger Jar from the 1970s.
This rare Chinoiserie-style ginger jar features a black glazed ceramic container and a gilt brass lid with a Malachite stone finial.
The bottom is also gilt brass and signed by Hauy Pouigo.
Hauy Pouigo is an Italian artist and sculptor known for their work in the mid-20th century.
Their pieces are often described as stunning and rare.
Hauy Pouigo is also known for creating other decorative objects, including faux horn candelabra, silver-plated heart-shaped trays, glass containers, and decanters.
This particular ginger jar is in very good vintage condition with no chips or repairs, consistent with its age and use.
