19th Century French Art Nouveau Opaline Glass Vase, Hand-painted Japanese Motif

About the Item

This intricately painted 19th century French Art Nouveau Opaline Glass Vase is a beautiful specimen reflecting a period where impressionistic flair was incorporated into opaline glass throughout France. This piece, with its compositional Japanese influence, was likely produced in Creusot, France in the mid to late 1800’s, when there was a new focus on reproducing Asian porcelain pieces in opaline glass. Comparatively, this vase is unique in the amount of intricate detail found in the hand-painted bird and flora scene that wraps the front of the piece. A gorgeous addition to a collection or room décor that’s needing a fresh and unique finishing touch.
