About the Item

Limited edition from Orrefors, designed by the renowned Swedish designer Ingegerd Råman. The beautiful modern "Caracalla" series was produced in 2005 in a limited edition — signed "Orrefors Limited ed 2005 Ingegerd Råman 169-200". A round vase in matte (sandblasted) glass. Vertical white lines against a granite-gray background. The name of the series, "Caracalla," may allude to the famous Roman baths in Rome, Terme di Caracalla, known for their architecture, columns, and mosaics. It is possible that Råman was inspired by classical architecture or Roman aesthetics when creating the restrained yet decorative form and pattern. Ingegerd Råman is one of Sweden’s most well-known and respected designers in glass and ceramics. She is known for her minimalist aesthetic, often focusing on function, simplicity, and the interplay of light with the material. She has worked with both Orrefors and Skruf, and has also designed for IKEA.
