Cenedese Murano Alexandrite Red Blue Murrines Italian Art Glass Flower Vase
About the Item
Beautiful and rare, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso light purple with circular murrines Italian art glass flower vase. Documented to Antonio Da Ros, designer / architect and Artistic Director for Gino Cenedese & C. The "Murrine" series is dated to the 1960s. The murrines are aqua blue with bright red centers. The vase is made with Neodymium "Alexandrite" glass, which changes color from daylight to indoor light. In this case it goes from a light purple under sunlight, to a light green under indoor florescent lights (see 3rd photo). Would make a great display piece on any vanity, side table or credenza. Mid-century era. Collectors item! This is a larger vase, measuring 10" tall x 6" across the body. Unique piece!
