About the Item

Beautiful and unusual, vintage Murano hand blown rich cobalt blue with excavated surface texture Italian art glass flower vase. The piece is documented to Cenedese company, with labels and signature on the bottom. Attributed to designer Antonio Da Ros. The signature says "Cenedese" on a rectangle without the surface texture, and has a worn white "Cenedese Glass - Murano - Made In Italy" item number label, along with another smaller white label. The writing on them is long gone. It was created in the "Scavo" technique, with organic shape, and abstract spatter in gray and white surface decoration all around the vase. Would make a great display piece on any dinning room, credenza, console or coffee table. Fill it with flowers or display it as a sculptural piece. It is very heavy. Late Midcentury era. Measures 11" tall x 11" across the body. The photos and measurements does not portray how massive this actually the vase is. Literature: Murano Glass - Themes and Variations (1910-1970), by Marc Heiremans, page 127 illustrates technique.
