Contemporary Mouthblown Vessel Tall Fire - Jahday Ford

About the Item

Contemporary Mouthblown Vessel Tall Fire - Jahday Ford. A recent graduate from the Manchester School Of Art specialising in hot blown glass and mould design. Jahday is driven to explore the material of glass and its behaviours with compatible materials in a digital world. Jahday was commissioned to create a contemporary take on the use of glass bottles as everyday vessels in the context of our Vintage Supermarket. The vessel is mouthblown using a combination of traditional glass blowing techniques creating a unique piece incorporating depth of blended glass colour, wrapped glass detail and dusted colour bringing a creative depth to a vessel used since time in memorial. There are additional inspirational images from our Vintage Supermarket, showing the contemporary maker and their works created for our event – these are additional images for inspiration, the listing is for the specific product only as described. Workshop Report: Contemporary product blown by hand by Jahday Ford. Many of the techniques used are fragile so we recommend the bottle is not immersed in water but gently dusted with a soft brush and slightly damp cloth as required.
