About the Item
A beautiful "Pulegoso arlecchino" vase designed by Corrado "Dino" Martens for Rag. Aureliano Toso in 1954. Documentation, including an illustration of the original design sketch can be found in the book "Vetreria Aureliano Toso Murano 1938-1968", Marc Heiremans, Arnoldsche, Stuttgart, 2016, N° 051-053, and page 210, Model 5975. The vase is made out of white "pulegoso" glass containing numerous bubbles. On this particular example there are no open bubbles or discolorations that this series tends to show. It is a fine example. On top of the pulegoso glass, applied joyfully colored glass pieces were marvered into the surface to inlay them. The "handles" are clear glass applications, hand tooled with tongs to make them look like leafs. A great piece for a serious mid century murano glass collection.
