About the Item
Stunning, rare and important vintage mid-century modern centrepiece Murano glass Roman female statue / or sculpture of a women with gold leaf inclusions in collector's condition. Made of white Murano art glass with dark green and dark grey, almost black elements and featuring the 'scavo' technique - a technique where combination of chemical powders is thrown onto the glass while molten - giving the glass the resemblance of historic roman glass which has been excavated after hundreds of years. by Ermanno Nason (1928-2014) for Cenedese of Murano, Venice, Italy. An absolutely stunning piece of Mid-Century Murano glass by one of the best glass makers of his generation - particularly striking is it's elegant form and pink color/colour.
A extremely rare opportunity to be the new custodian and owner of this rare item of Murano glass which is, in our opinion, a real museum piece.
