Hannah Hansdotter “Stucco Print” Blue/White Opac Hand Blown Glass Vase, 2017
About the Item
The Swedish artist's Hannah Hansdotter was born in 1984 and has emerged as one of our most interesting glass artists of today. She is based in her studios in Kosta and Boda and has participated in a variety of exhibitions.
Her work involves blowing molten glass into Industrial iron frameworks to create pieces that ooze and bulge through the grates
The form deals with the balance of architectural design and decay. The esthetic between beautiful and brutal. The sculptures are individually mouth blown and painted in Kosta Boda’s glass factory.
The glass artist Hanna Hansdotter, has been named this year's recipient of the Åke Andrén Foundation's artist scholarship, 2020. "With a convincing certainty of form, Hanna Hansdotter happily develops the glass art tradition with artistic integrity and carries out an uplifting successful combination of painting, sculpture and glass".
